Faith
That’s me! Read on to learn a little more about me, where I come from, and why I started this blog.
My journey
Ever since I was a kid I loved animals and cared about the environment. In 2016, while cooking my first college meal (Go UCF Knights!) I got super grossed out cooking chicken. From then on, I couldn’t see meat without seeing a life, so I decided to go vegetarian. I did not miss meat at all. However, I supplemented the absence of meat in my diet for a lot more dairy, which did not make me feel my best. In 2019, I started focusing more on my health and decided to cut all dairy and animal products out of my diet for good. I immediately felt the benefits to my health and haven’t looked back.
Also during 2019, I started to learn more about the plastic industry and gradually started to work on lowering my waste. In 2020, I started to learn about the harm caused by the fashion industry and decided I wanted to start voting with my dollars and make all my purchases, conscious ones.
Since then, I have worked to implement sustainability into all aspects of my life. While no one can be perfectly sustainable, I feel good knowing I try my best every day.
I know from experience how difficult it can be to transition to a vegan and sustainable lifestyle. So many items that we use and eat have animal products hidden inside. With so much greenwashing from brands, it’s hard to know what is sustainable, and what isn’t. That’s why I created my blog, to document all that I’ve learned along my sustainable journey to help guide you through yours. I hope to be an approachable friend that encourages you to eat more plants and practice sustainable habits, without any pressure and judgments.
